A World of Busy

Things have been busy in my studio, my world has revolved largely around work for the conventions as well as a couple non-profits. Peer Servants requested a newsletter design and I obliged, currently we release one a month for three specific audiences on a rotating schedule.  Were also looking at possible logo updates as well as a brochure layout.

My Portfolio is in desperate need of updating, the work there represents some projects that are a couple years old and some of the more resent work is far more exciting and fresh.

The HolyCarp phenomenon has also evolved over the last few months. The current incarnation is a conversion to a line of cloths that should appeal to the convention going crowd. It’s got a fun image and a particular ring to it. The t-shirt I debuted at the “Summer Matsuri” was well received and will hopefully be on sale in limited release  by Another Anime Con 2008. Speaking of which, the new program guide and badges are on deck for work right now, as is the Northgate Productions website. I’m out fishing for some new work from political campaigns to logo and identity to print design. If you need something fun, consider PowderKeg for your design.

Design Conferences and Retail Shows

This upcoming weekend I’m leaving Boston to go to the National Stationery Show with my full time job. This year we’ll again be debuting new product and designs, as well as promoting the successful products we marketed the previous years. I’m excited about the work we’ve been doing the past few months being on display. Personally I’ll be operating the Roland printer we purchased, showing customers how easy it is to make a party banner with our own templates.

Meanwhile, back in Boston, the editors behind HOW magazine will be hosting their annual HOW Design Conference. I will admit, I really would like to be there to see the likes of Jeff Fisher and Vonster and some of the other great creatives, but the price tag was a little to steep for my humble wallet. I hope they have a wonderful con though and I can’t wait to read about the seminars and panels in the coming weeks on the HOW Forums.

Two great shows, on one weekend, kind of sad knowing I can’t be at both.

Another Anime Con Table Sign

Just wanted to show off a little project I made for the Another Anime Con table at Anime Boston this past weekend. This year we are having the theme “Go West,” and I’m excited about the branding potential with this project. We have also created matching buttons and a half page ad for convention program guides.

Special Thanks to Shauna Leva for the mascot art, she’s got wonderful talent that can be seen on her site ShaunArt!
