Design Conferences and Retail Shows

This upcoming weekend I’m leaving Boston to go to the National Stationery Show with my full time job. This year we’ll again be debuting new product and designs, as well as promoting the successful products we marketed the previous years. I’m excited about the work we’ve been doing the past few months being on display. Personally I’ll be operating the Roland printer we purchased, showing customers how easy it is to make a party banner with our own templates.

Meanwhile, back in Boston, the editors behind HOW magazine will be hosting their annual HOW Design Conference. I will admit, I really would like to be there to see the likes of Jeff Fisher and Vonster and some of the other great creatives, but the price tag was a little to steep for my humble wallet. I hope they have a wonderful con though and I can’t wait to read about the seminars and panels in the coming weeks on the HOW Forums.

Two great shows, on one weekend, kind of sad knowing I can’t be at both.

Another Anime Con Table Sign

Just wanted to show off a little project I made for the Another Anime Con table at Anime Boston this past weekend. This year we are having the theme “Go West,” and I’m excited about the branding potential with this project. We have also created matching buttons and a half page ad for convention program guides.

Special Thanks to Shauna Leva for the mascot art, she’s got wonderful talent that can be seen on her site ShaunArt!

Updates - Campaign, Northgate and Another Anime Con

PKGD been a ‘little busy’ the last couple weeks…the campaign client, Sean Garballey for State Representative, won by a landslide in Tuesday’s special election. It was a great group effort in creating a campaign with a solid message, great visuals and a true grassroots effort in getting out the voters. Congratulations Sean and I look forward to assisting you in the November election!

An update on Northgate Productions, my client Tim has chosen a great logo and business card design. I plan on showing some of the project steps in a case study following the completion of everything, but not before our next step…a Wordpress blog for his company. I am promoting Wordpress as a wonderful solution to people who want to update their own content and create their own unique look quite easily…more on the wonders of Wordpress in a later post.

Another Anime Con, this is one of my pro-bono projects-I love anime-, has asked me to create an ad for the convention in 2008. Another Anime Con 2008:Go West!, this ad will be found in the program guide of Anime Boston 2008, as well as some of the other local conventions, Portcon Maine, Connecticon and others. Look for the half page ad if your going to Anime Boston in two weeks, and of course come to AAC 2008 from October 17th-19th up at the Radisson Hotel in Nashua, NH!

PowderKeg Graphic Design offers a full list of print services including direct mail layout, booklet design, newsletters and ads. Any requests for projects can be emailed to me at cgrivakis@grivakisgraphics.com, all consultations are free! When working with campaigns PKGD will only work with one candidate per seat, per election. We will not work for your competition and returning candidates get preferential treatment. PKGD also prints with a local union printer that has turned out many wonderful projects. Thank you Simard!

Garballey Campaign Looks Good

Garballey Palm CardThe Campaign to Elect Sean Garballey won a key victory in Tuesday’s primary race. Many people throughout town might have received the literature shown above. The Garballey campaign used PowderKeg Graphic Design and had positive results. With such a strong candidate, there should be a strong visual presence. PowderKeg Graphic Design can deliver results for your campaign! Congratulations to Sean on winning the Democratic Primary, I look forward to working with you over the next month for the special election in March! Keep up the great work!
